1. Overview

YouTube 600x is a browser extension that generates AI summaries of YouTube videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

The short version: we only process the video metadata needed to generate summaries. We do not track your browsing history, build advertising profiles, or sell your data.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Video Metadata (Sent to Our API)

When you hover over a YouTube thumbnail, the Extension sends the following to our servers for summary generation:

• Video title and description
• Video transcript (when available)
• Channel name
• Video duration

This data is used solely to generate the AI summary and content signals. It is not linked to your identity or used for any other purpose.

2.2 Account Information (Paid Subscribers Only)

When you create an account for a paid subscription, we collect:

• Email address
• Subscription tier and status
• Usage quota counters (summaries used per month)

Payment information (credit card details, billing address) is collected and processed by Paddle, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full credit card number.

2.3 Local Storage

The Extension stores the following locally in your browser:

• Cached summaries for videos you've already previewed
• Your language preference
• Custom intent filter settings
• Extension preferences

This data never leaves your device.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not:

• Track your YouTube watch history, search queries, or browsing behavior
• Build user profiles for advertising or analytics
• Sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties
• Use cookies or tracking scripts on our website
• Collect IP addresses for any purpose beyond basic server operation
• Store transcripts after summary generation is complete

4. Data Retention

Video metadata sent to our API is processed in real time and not persistently stored. Generated summaries are cached on our servers anonymously (keyed by video ID, not user ID) to serve other users faster; cached summaries contain no personal information.

Account information is retained for the life of your account. Upon account deletion, your email and usage data are removed within 30 days.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Paddle — Payment processing for subscriptions. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
• AI model providers — We use large language model APIs to generate summaries. Video metadata is transmitted to these providers solely for inference; they do not use this data for model training.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed through our service, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls on our servers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

YouTube 600x is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities
• Data portability (where applicable)

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use the Extension from outside the US, your video metadata will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Extension, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Extension or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
